What it is

freeColour and laserPen in one purchase, for less than the pair separately ($14 vs $16). They belong together: laserPen's button mounts inside the colour row freeColour builds, so the suite is the natural install.

Every .qmd in the zip is byte-identical to the builds proven in months of daily use on the author's own Paper Pro — the same files sold on the individual listings.

What you get

  • The full HSV colour wheel over the pen menu — favourites with naming, hex entry, eight recents, and an alpha-aware AARRGGBB field.
  • The laser pen: presentation strokes that erase themselves newest-first (~1.5 s cadence, up to 20 queued), so you can gesture over a document without leaving ink behind.
  • Both owner's manuals as PDFs, and plaintext patches you can read line by line before installing.

How it changes your device

Three plaintext qmldiff patches dropped into xovi's qt-resource-rebuilder directory, activated by one xovi-safe xochitl restart (the README gives the exact command). No compiled code, no system files modified; uninstalling is deleting the three files and restarting the same way.

Caveats

  • Requires xovi + qt-resource-rebuilder on-device (free; links in the README). Install freeColour before laserPen — the laser button needs freeColour's colour row to exist.
  • Built and tested against firmware 3.26.0.68 exactly; qmldiff patches degrade gracefully (they simply don't apply) on other firmware, but are only promised on 3.26.0.68.
  • Independent product — not affiliated with or endorsed by reMarkable AS.

what you get

  • freeColour.qmd + changeGreenColor.qmd (qmldiff patches, plaintext)
  • laserPen.qmd (qmldiff patch, plaintext)
  • Both owner's manuals (freeColour + laserPen PDFs)
  • Merged install / uninstall README + third-party licence notes
